UCIA M.A. Creative Practice
In my younger years, I was, alongside my father, a forestry worker. For these drawings I brought together the two very disparate aspects of my life that are drawing and forestry.
Part of the Creative Practices M.A. at The University of Cumbria, that I am currently enrolled on, these pieces explore the narrative value of the drawn image. Could I capture some essence of my father's profession and my relationship with both it and, more interestingly, him?
This project was the first of an on-going series of self penned briefs that will form the practical backbone of my M.A. These drawings represent the start of a process that will see me pushing my drawing in new and more considered directions. I have started to focus on the idea of 'biographical' drawing.
